Update 4 April 2020: The Temporary Suspension of Entry & Transit for Foreign Nationals to Indonesia


IMPORTANT NOTICE: (Update 4 April 2020) Travel restriction to Indonesia through immigration control at Indonesia’s borders shall adopt the Regulation of Minister of Law and Human Rights No.11 of 2020 about Temporary Prohibition of Entry to the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia for Foreigners as of 2 April 2020, at 00.00 WIB (Indonesian Western Standard Time) until further notice.

The Government of Indonesia temporarily SUSPENDS all entry and transit of Foreign Nationals into the Indonesian territory*

The Policy is effective from Thursday, 2 April 2020 at 00.00 and shall be reviewed with the situation and development of #COVID19 Pandemic

There are exclusion from the policy :

– Holders of Temporary Stay Permit (KITAS) and Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
– Holders of Indonesian Diplomatic/Service Visa and Stay Permit
– Support Personnel for Medical, food and humanitarian aid
– Crews of Sea, air and land transportation
– Foreign Nationals Who are working in national strategic projects

They all need to provide a health certificate certifying had no sickness related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the past 14 days. This health certificate must be issued a maximum 7 days prior to flying and should be issued in English issued by relevant health authorities (hospitals, institutions, etc)

Can Foreign Nationals in Indonesia return to their home country?

– Yes, in regards to the policy of their home, destination or transit country and flight availability

– Please continuously keep in touch with your country’s embassy or representative for the updated information

If you are Foreign Nationals who can’t return because of lock down policy in your country

Immediately contact your country’s embassy or representative

Foreign nationals whose Visitor’s Permits are to be expired or are expired, which either can be extended or cannot be extended, will be granted an Emergency Stay Permit without any application process at immigration offices.

An Emergency Stay Permit is automatic and free.
For Temporary Stay Permit Card (KITAS) / Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP) HOLDERS outside of Indonesia

KITAS and KITAP Holders can return to Indonesia if they still have a valid residence permit and must provide a health certificate issued by relevant health authorities
