Indonesia's Exports in July Up 1.32 Percent

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia's exports in July 2010 reached US$ 12.49 billion or up 1.32 percent from that in June 2010, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS).
The July 2010 exports were up 29 percent from that in July last year, according to BPS Deputy Head Subagio Dwijosumono, here Wednesday.
The July export hike was bolstered by increase in non-oil/gas exports, from US$10.42 billion in June 2010 to US$10.61 billion in July 2010, or up by 1.76 percent.
The July export increase was contributed especially by exports of ores, crust and metal dust worth around US$219.8 million.
"Meanwhile, there was significant drop in the exports of fat and vegetable oil amounting to US$82.9 million," he said.
Japan was the main destination of Indonesia`s non-oil/gas exports with a total value of US$1.37 billion, followed by the United States of America at the value of US$1.28 billion, and China US$0.92 billion.
"The three nations constituted around 33.64 percent," he said.
The oil and gas exports were in fact down 1.09 percent from US$1.90 billion in June 2010 to US$1.88 billion in July 2010.
The drop was due to a decline in gas exports reaching US$862.6 million.
